We believe great putting requires three skills:

  1. Read the green correctly for your intended speed

  2. Stike the putt with the correct speed

  3. Start the ball on the intended line

The first two skills require practice and our Putting Drills section has our recommended drills for each. The third is where our putters help, but first let’s explore how most players align the putter at address and the bias that regularly exists. If you were to have a SAM lab or equivalent putting fitting, you would likely find out that you do not align your putter square to your intended starting line and likely do not start the putt on the line you believe you do. Nearly all players at every level have some sort of alignment and/or strike bias. It goes something like this. You have a right to left breaking putt, say 15’. Your read tells you the putt breaks two cups. You set up and align your putter to what you believe is 2 cups to the right. You strike the putt on what you believe is a line 2 cups out, except its not. You actually start the ball 4 cups right of the hole. It goes in and you believe you read it perfectly. What happened there? Well, what happened is you have an open face bias at impact which mean you consistently push your putts to the right. So in fact you did read the putt correctly for your bias and you have yourself to read the greens to account for that bias. Does this work? Yes as long as you push your putts consistently, but there are issues with this method. First, you will consistently have trouble with left to right breaking putts and likely miss them all low because it is difficult to train yourself to under read putts in one direction and overread putts in the opposite direction. Second, straight putts become very problematic because there is no break to under read and your brain wont let you line up left of the hole particularly on shorter putts. Does this sound familiar? This scenario exists for a variety of reason associated with each individual’s vision, setup, practice methods etc and traditional putter alignment methods don’t do anything to help correct them.

Until now

Our putters use the line on the ball with our patented double offset hosel to guarantee perfect setup alignment every single time. Make your read and simply align the line on your ball to your intended starting line. Set the putter behind the ball and align the leading edge of the hosel over the line on the ball like in the image below. That’s it! The putter face is now aligned perfectly square to your intended starting line.

Our putters also provide two more important visual set up cues.  By aligning the leading edge of the hosel with the directional line on the back of the putter the player can guarantee the putter is soled correctly and the handle is consistently set in the same position vertically.

Additionally, by eye balling the back edge of the hosel the player can guarantee consistent loft of the putter and that the handle is set consistently in the same position horizontally.
